NISE People

We have recently welcomed Dr Chris Rowe to the NISE team. Chris has been involved in the innovation management area for a number of years working with the NHS to bring new ideas to market.  He is a medical engineer by background, obtaining a PhD from the University of Liverpool investigating the haemodynamics of a new bypass graft design, and had previously worked as a researcher in the area of artificial heart development. Before becoming involved in the wider innovation management field Chris was the Senior Research Engineer at Huntleigh Healthcare, helping to invent a wide range of novel technologies for internal projects and also acted as the academic liaison for a number of external projects. From his experience in this field he believes “there are a large number of innovative ideas within the NHS, the experience NISE has can help to develop these initial ideas to successful commercial products avoiding the pitfalls that can so easily hamper even the best innovations”. Chris and his wife have recently had a new baby daughter, which “means the NHS and its effectiveness plays a more direct role in your life, and means you are even more determined to see successful innovations’.
